Who is Amorell? The name belongs to a seasoned public relations veteran who is known for her sense of humour and her ability to get strong results.
Amorell brings 19 years of experience to the table. She spent 6 years leading health care projects for several Toronto-area public relations agencies. Rising through the PR agency ranks from account supervisor to vice-president, Amorell played a key senior management role in leading teams, facilitating meetings, conferences and workshops, providing senior strategic counsel and advice to clients and developing communications materials.
Amorell's strong strategic communications planning skills, creativity and project management experience have been called upon to support many organizations, including: pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, educational institutions, government departments and not-for-profit associations.
Product communications, reputation management, corporate communications and stakeholder relations are key areas of expertise for the bilingual PR professional.
The trained journalist runs her own communications consulting practice. Amorell has a unique blend of private sector, government and not-for-profit communications experience and expertise. Specializing in communications planning, change management and crisis & issues management, Amorell provides senior-level counsel to organization leaders and managers.
Some of the organizations she has provided support to include: University of Toronto Scarborough, The Hospital for Sick Children, York University's Office of the Ombudsperson, Niagara Health System, Facilities Management Branch, Ontario Ministry of Attorney General and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
Amorell serves on the Board of Directors of the Rouge Valley Health System, a multi-site hospital located in Scarborough and Ajax . She has also assisted the Hospital's Foundation with its strategic planning and fund development program.
Amorell is a Public Relations Instructor in the Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University and is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
